Australia Post produced sheetlets of Gold Medallists stamps to celebrate each gold medal performance by an Australian athlete or team at this year’s Beijing Olympic Games following the tradition of the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympics.
After 16 days of competitive Olympic events, Australian teams got 14 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 17 bronze medals with 6th ranking. These are the gold medallists who were honoured on Australian stamps :
