H.I.H. Takamado:
Ladies and Gentlemen:

Back on August 10, 2011, I sent an email to the Philanippon Secretariat asking them to clarify the situation concerning Vietnam's exhibits on the occasion of Japan's Philanippon '11.

Unfortunately, I have not yet received any word from any of Philanippon 2011 staff. Instead, I have just got copy of an official letter dated July 27, 2011 from Vietnam Philatelic Authorities informed the four exhibitors that their entries into the Philanippon 2011's competitive class could not be sent to Yokohama due to the withdrawal of Vietnam's participation.

My concern was that if the four exhibits could not be sent to Philanippon 2011, then how any of you explain to me the fact that the exhibits appeared under the title "Competitive Class Accepted. Listing (Country breakdown)" as:

- Vietnam Class 2B. Exhibit no. 2240. Frame no. 22253-22257. Exhibitor Trong-Khai Tran. Title of Exhibit: Postage stamps of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam relating to President Ho Chi Minh.

- Vietnam Class 7B. Exhibit no. 7225. Frame no. 72139-72143. Exhibitor Thi Minh Luan Nguyen. Title of Exhibit: Vietnamese women.

- Vietnam Class 7B. Exhibit no. 7226. Frame no. 72144-72148. Exhibitor Tien Dat Nguyen. Title of Exhibit: Thanglong - Hanoi.

- Vietnam Class 10AB. Exhbit no. 10114. Frame no. 91146. Exhibitor Thanh Vu. Title of Exhibit: Lotus - The flower I like most.

Any of your reply to my concern will be most appreciative in terms of national honor and international philatelic integrity, namely information versus misinformation.

Respectfully,

Prof. Tran Anh-Tuan

Dear Sirs and Madams:

I would like to take the liberty to introduce myself as a long time philatelist who has started collecting stamps and postal history from Indochina, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam since 1957. I would also like to seek information regarding Vietnam's participation.
I have read PHILANIPPON '11 website (Competitive Class Listing) and found the titles of Vietnam's four exhibits, along with an entry on Philatelic Literature class. But what surprised me and left me in a confused situation is that my philatelic friends in that country informed me that those entries -with the exception of the Vietnam Philately Magazine- could not be sent to Japan due to insurance problems.
So, I am wondering if those four exhibits from Vietnam were really and safely sent to Philanippon '11, accepted, and shown on the Exhibition Hall?
I would very much be appreciative of your generous help in this matter.
Respectfully,

Prof. Tran Anh-Tuan
